A new addition to the Revolution Rail system, Riparius Station riders get to begin at Riverside Station, a 1913 National Historic Landmark built in Prairie School style and then ride The Hudson River Run which winds through pristine forests, right alongside one of the most scenic stretches of the mighty Hudson River, where you can appreciate the untamed beauty of the Adirondacks.
The original location is still in North Creek (17 mins)(12 miles) from Pine Notch and is the base for multiple rides and adventures - with a new Boreas adventure ride and rail and tube combinations.
The season books up quickly – they are starting reservations for next summer in November.

An easy entry for canoes and kayaks as well as just relaxing by the water. This lake is still a "local" gem so it is not crowded. Across the street is the Loon Lake Market & Deli so grab a sandwich and an icecream and enjoy.

Schroon Lake offers a true Adirondack lake experience. The area is a four season getaway with quaint country shops, restaurants, antiques and collectable shops, movie theater, and churches. Enjoy the vistas (stunning foliage in the fall) as you take the short drive to the July craft fair or to the expansive public beach. If you enjoy mountainous landscapes, outdoor fun and lakeside activities, Schroon Lake is definitely worth checking out.

There are over 1800 miles of marked trails, including the 46 Adirondack High Peaks in the Adirondack Park. There are several great trails near the house for the moderate hiker that we've done and enjoyed:
Kip Mountain - This is an easy-moderate, very well-marked trail with yellow arrow signs almost every 20 feet or so. This is due to the close proximity of private land. There are also many signs denoting private property, so please be careful to stay on the trail.
Stewart Mountain - short hike leading to a wonderful viewpoint of Loon Lake and Gore Mountain in the distance. This is known as one of the best bang for your buck hikes in the area. It's a great hike for hikers of all ages and ability levels
Dynamite Hill via the Dynamite Hill Trail Head or the Caroline Fish Memorial Trial. Multiple loops used all 4 seasons and is part of the Chester Challenge

Beaver Brook Outfitters: http://www.beaverbrook.net Beaver Brook is located in North Creek. I've heard good things about their rental policies and their excursions!
North Creek Rafting Co.: www.northcreekrafting.com

Gore Mountain is not just for skiing. There is a Gondola Ride from the basin which offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. Enjoy the hiking and mountain biking trails and try disc golf!.

As you go north up Route 28 there are signs on the right for Lake Abanakee (before the town). There is a sandy beach for chairs, etc. and a dock for swimming out in the lake. There is also a put in for canoes and kayaks off 28. This is the place to go fishing!

6439 NY-28 Indian Lake 12842
For local maple syrup and other unique gifts, this is a must stop. We happened upon her “workshop” during her syrup season and got to see it being made firsthand. She has her trees around the lake and they were collecting the spring run. The wooden house is on the right hand side heading towards Indian Lake and she usually has a flag out by the street. It’s very easy to miss, so start going slower about 14 miles up the road….

One of the great camps, Sagamore was the Adirondack home of the Vanderbilt family and is now a National Historic Landmark.

Beautiful location and very well done, this is a museum for comfortable walking shoes and at least a couple of hours. There is an outdoor area for the kids where they can play historic games.
The museum collection includes a number of large objects, including a Pullman railroad car, several guide boats and an Idem class racing sailboat, a steam locomotive, a one-room schoolhouse, the rustic "Sunset Cottage", and the Log Hotel, built in 1876 and original to the museum's site, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Gorgeous, Gorgeous, Gorgeous. This is the quintessential Adirondack / Lake George Resort with spectacular views without any of the congestion of Lake George, itself. Perfect for lunch on the terrace and there are patios on the water with Adirondack chairs and cocktail menus. There are several small towns en route with their own vistas so the drive to Bolton Landing is a pleasure as well.

A phenomenal 20 minute ride (or longer if desired) of the area around Long Lake. A thrilling takeoff and landing in an seaplace should be on every bucket list.

www.adirondackexperience.com/recreation/buttermilk-falls
This highly popular short hike destination right outside of Long Lake is a favorite for families, picnickers, swimmers and anglers. Above the falls there is a canoe launch used for boating up the Raquette River. Below the falls there are picnic spots as well as swimming areas.

Near Tupper Lake, the Wild Center has many ways to connect with nature through outdoor experiences like iForest, guided canoe trips, and a 54,000 square foot museum with live animals and hands on everything. The new Wild Walk is an elevated trail across the Adirondack treetops.
