Our 50 acres have a network of trails that circle the center 3 acres and branch off from there. Some wind through the woods and ravines and others are a gentle stroll through the trees with vistas of the mountains. Take a morning walk, sit on one of the many stumps or stones and just listen to nothing but nature…..

.9 miles away is the beach and boat launch. An easy entry for canoes and kayaks as well as just relaxing by the water. This lake is still a "local" gem so it is not crowded. Across the street is the Loon Lake Market & Deli so grab a sandwich and an icecream and enjoy.

Ski, hike, cycle, and more at Dynamite Hill Recreation Area - a four-season recreation destination in Chestertown.
There is so much to do at Dynamite Hill!
Summer: Get outside on their over 120 acres of marked hiking and single-track mountain biking trails. Family-friendly and educational trails for all ages include the Adirondack Sampler and The Storybook Trail – the newest addition to Dynamite Hill, brought to you by the Friends of Chester Library. Younger children can read and follow along with the picture book "Dandelion Magic" while walking along the path.
Winter: Dynamite Hill offers cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, skiing, snowboarding, sledding, downhill tubing, and ice skating – there's even night skiing, a tow rope, and a warming hut! Don't miss the annual Krazy Cardboard Sled Race at the Krazy Downhill Derby held in February!

Schroon Lake offers a true Adirondack lake experience. The area is a four season getaway with quaint country shops, restaurants, antiques and collectable shops, movie theater, and churches. Enjoy the vistas (stunning foliage in the fall) as you take the short drive to the July craft fair or to the expansive public beach. If you enjoy mountainous landscapes, outdoor fun and lakeside activities, Schroon Lake is definitely worth checking out.

GORE MOUNTAIN: Whether you're new to the slopes or a ski pro, you'll love Gore Mountain, New York State’s largest ski and ride resort. Just 13.4 miles away, Gore Mountain offers 4 peaks of alpine terrain and events held year-round at the mountain base. Other winter activities include snowshoeing, snowmobiling, tubing and cross-country skiing.
Summer: Gore Mountain is not just for skiing. There is a Gondola Ride from the basin which offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. Enjoy the hiking and mountain biking trails and try disc golf!.
